Born from the Streets is a series where I take images from the streets and put them in an environment that expresses those very same streets. I at an urban style base, plywood, and fencing, and take elements from the streets, and layers of spray paint to create a canvas. Then the photoprint what affixed to the canvas using wheat past. Lastly, the print is covered in Art Resin to protect it.
I saw this man sitting completely still on the streets of San Fransisco. It was cold out and his umbrella was largely ineffective. I tried to talk to him but it didn’t seem he could speak English or was even in the right state of mind to talk back. I wondered if many of those who passed by were grateful for the fact that the man had the decency to use his umbrella to hide that which most find a visual and emotional inconvenience. Maybe I’m just being overly cynical.
